Woo hoo!!

WEll things have been good! My design works are coming in and i'm handling them well..got at least 1.1k coming in by next month hopefully.

Xane and i went to Pulau Ubin for the Vesak Day long weekend. Yes, i finally have a long weekend!! But sadly i must say, that it is still punctuated by chorale practice. but nvm. After a long long queue at the ferry terminal, we finally arrived at Pulau Ubin. It was Xane's first and my second time there. WE had lunch at the malay kopitiam right beside the jetty. Nice traditional, down-to-earth mee siam and the teh was good too. The nice thing about Pulau Ubin is that its not a tourist attraction and things there aren't expensive!

We cycled around a lot and it was quite strenous in the beginning when we still had our barang barang with us. the big backpack, tent and bbq stuff. And then, Xane got pissed (wow) and complained about the heat and the heavy stuff he had to carry. I was like 'hello, i'm carrying the tent'. So i guess he really doesn't really have much patience like he always claim to possess. haha. And so, cycling to 2 beaches after, we settled down at the Mamam Beach. There wasn't much of a beach to speak of really. It is a mangrove beach and it isn't those nice clean white beach u have. Its worse than East Coast, worst than Changi Beach. But nevermind la..but it certainly felt like i'm preparing for field camp.

The tent was finally up and we cycled on on our 'bad' bicyles. Mine had a terrible narrow seat while Xane finally realises small bikes are not comfy to ride on. So we went back to 'town' to exchange. Slightly better. Actually i can't really remember wat we did other than cycling around. OH, we went back to town to get our water..and man the Coconuts there were damn nice!! Then we took photographs here and there. And had to return to our tent before the sun sets coz there are no street lamps around, and we will surely lose our way around in the dark. We tried to start a campfire and realised it really is quite difficult.haha..we ended up with a pile of wood on the sand. Luckily the bbq kit was easy to use! just burn it!! hhaha..The bbq went well..and i told myself to relax and dun flare up at anything, just reminded Xane to help me keep watch on the food! We had satay, chicken wings, beef steak and taiwan sausages. It got really dark 'cept for the full moon light that night.

After eating, we decided to bathe. We walked past the shelter and it had no lights. We reached the public toilet, and tada! it had no lights either! So i went back to get our lamps. Brave Xane proposed to go in and get a decent shower. Ok. There was no showers in the toilet so we just bathed ourselves at the tap. haha. it was pretty creepy man. Oh at least the toilets had toilet paper.

The night was dead with still air and lotsa insects jumping around. We couldn' really sleep and decided the next time go camping die die must bring a portable fan along.

The next day we had lontong for breakfast at the same kopitiam. Then we set off to search for Chek Jawa. Although it was said that we can only visit it via guided tours, we decided to go take a look. I chose a shorter route as interpreted from the map but didn't realise it was a tougher one with lotsa steep slopes and Xane had a fall there with pretty bad wounds on his palm. Xane started to turn pale and had a minor asthma attack. Xane was a bit scared to see blood i guess and told Xane not to panic and rest for a while.. Funnily, Xane was very embarassed when other cyclists went past. haha..We went on, pushing our bikes for quite a bit and finally reached Chek Jawa. It was high tide so couldn't see anything but it was really quite nice. Den we packed up, returned the bike and had lunch at Changi V before heading home.

Smart-ass me arranged to have a dental appointment with Elizabeth on the 29th August. haha..In Song is on 28th August. hee..hope i dun have to book in on the 28th night..so i can sing the full concert.

I spent $140 on Xane's present for next month. Only to realise there are nicer stuff on yahoo! auctions. I might buy those for Xane instead. We'll see..no $$ le la!!!!!!

Hui is expecting a girl, as told by the gynae. but apparently she still hopes for it to be a boy and is offensive when we call her baby our niece.

Now i just need my pay to start coming in!! Oh and congrats to Dot for finding a new job! come to think of it, its her first day of work tomro!! All the Best,Dot!!

Long tum no see! Toto craze!

Yo yo! wat's up yo!

Its been a long time man..

Let's see...

My TiBook is broken when i still have a couple 'o freelance projects going on. And i was contemplating on getting a Mac Mini! About $1300 like that..and i tot my TiBook can fetch about $500? But now i dun think so la...its in pretty bad shape. It was going to cost me $905 to get the LCD replaced. So i thought it wasn't wise. That's like 80% of a Mac Mini. Plus a few hundred bucks, i'd be able to get a meaner, faster, cooler machine!

Uncle Jimmy kindly offered to bring my TiBook to his fren to see if the LCD is really beyond repair..and well..it is beyond repair. Then the very very nice Uncle Jimmy even helped me to bring it to SGL at Sim Lim to check again if they can repair it at a cheaper price. All these on top of his extreme kindness to lend me his Powerbook. Althought it is really quite slow in processing, i'm truly very grateful to his PowerBook! It helped me tide over some of the more impt projects like the stupid 'Creative Business Cards' and also Tempest Music and TDA booklet! Ya actually these are all the projects i have on hand now..left with Tempest and TDA..Just awaiting approval from the clients while i await my payment. Think these 2 projects can earn me a 1.4Ghz Mac Mini le...Hope the TDA one can fetch me a higher price..

Eddie met up with me to see the draft prints of the TDA booklet. And he told me he had another idea/concept in mind..And showed me 2 annual reports. 'Duh,' I tot. Annual Report and Corporate Profile are not very similar. And the kinda write-up he gave me was really so strict and straighforward and ultimately dry. The approach is just not right. It was more like trying to hard sell their products. So, the whole concept that i spent the week doing and stayed up on friday night till 5.30am to do was scrapped. Nvm. At least i think the Tempest Music project was getting somewhere..and i love the new Tempest logo i came up with..Hope Miss Lim will finally approve it.

Oh..actually, there was another bigger thing that happened the past week. Oh now i recall..it was basically a damn f**ked up week full of bad things. Xane initiated a break up on the night of my audition. lala..fine...cried and got damn upset in camp doing duty the next day after staying out with Dot at the seesha place till 3am. I even wanted to buy the iPod Shuffle for Xane..dunno for wat but i guess it was like a farewell gift. I realised how much more i should have treasured him. But then again, like Dot suggested, it might have been a good thing...shan't elaborate..But Sunday night he called me and apologised, citing that he said the wrong things again.. Ok.

The next day, 2nd May (Monday), Joanna, Xane, Dot and me went to JB for a day trip! ABC's first overseas trip!!! Lucky i had received my new passport last minute on sat..and the paranoid Dot finally realised JB isn't that scary as she imagined!! We had tim sum and shopped at Shitty Square and then went to Holiday Plaza. We finished off with dinner at Taman Daima! Sambal soton, Stingray, Cereal Prawns, Tapioca Leaves, Dua Tao...woo..must go with yann they all one day!! And the dinner costs us RM76 only! Dot and Jo got hair extensions, bought clothes... Xane spent the most la..as usual...I err...bought 2 novelty things only.

All these happened and then my TiBook died! arghh..

Anyway, Mother's Day was a simple fare celebrated at my brother's place with homecooked dinner as my mummy was on a vegetarian diet that day. I was, however, too vexed up with all the stupid problems i was facing to really enjoy the night. I didn't even buy anything for mummy! Coz i was like..arghh..will be getting money from her to buy Mac Mini..den i spend money buying prezzie for her? a bit the sala...

I borrowed Xane's PowerMac in the end. Coz, sorry Jimmy, the Powerbook really wasn't very constructive. Now that i'm using the PowerMac, i think having a desktop really isn't such a bad thing contrary to wat i agreed with Yin Chuin. He was saying i should just spend the money and fix it coz since i'm not able to afford a new AlBook, getting a desktop will be a total change in how, where and when i work. True la..but now i think there is a certain form of security when u actually work on a desktop. Dunno if Mac Mini will give me that sense. Watever it is, anywayz, i've decided that the TiBook shall be transformed into a 'desktop' and i'll just hold on till i finished my BMT recourse Oct or so. Hopefully the Mac Mini would have gottena speed boost and make my money more worthwhile!!

Monday duty and i was having a flu..ended up not doing any work in camp at all. I prayed to God that i'm risking it to take a good rest and will do the TDA booklet 'revamp' the next day, and pls see me thru it smoothly. And it did! Eddie thinks the new design is solid, just need to revamp the cover which i did not touch at all coz i dun remember him saying the cover needs to redo. nvm..i'll do it tonight!! I really hope this booklet can fetch about $800..I stupidly quoted him $450..But i already told him during the meet-up that if redesign i need to raise the costs!!

Hai..so desperate i was and i actually went to tabulate the TOTO results for the past few weeks and analyzed and placed a bet.. I bought 04. 27. 44...and another set of 04. 27. 04 and 44 came out. Argh..I'm set on betting on another set of 3 tmr, after some 'analysis' again of course.. heee...

Scarily, Mervyn (my colleague) told me that i've been grinding my teeth in my sleep! no wonder i've been feeling aches in my jaws. And also, both my best friends, Dot and Yann has lost their jobs! So sad..hope they'll get a super duper satisfying, both mentally and financially, jobs soons!!

After prac on 7 May, we went to Chloe's beautiful bungalow in changi. I 'jitao' stunned..and went into a sad mood..coz i kept wondering when i'll ever be able to have such luxury. It seemed to surreal being in Chloe's place..it didn't feel like i'm in singapore! Sad..Her dad is a pilot. Hai. But the location was bad man..as in for me..can't imagine how mummy would feel if she had to live just opposite the Changi Prison. No no..
